Can laser welding not use gas shielded welding?
     Laser welding equipment has a wide range of applications in the industry, it can weld all kinds of metal sheet, welding effect is good, fast, and the technical requirements are not as strict as the traditional welding equipment, the degree of intelligence is higher. However, many factories for various reasons, such as the need to reduce costs, or inconvenient placement of gas cylinders in the processing environment, and hope to abandon the protective gas, resulting in                       questions: Can laser welding not use gas shielded welding?

     As a laser welding machine manufacturer, the suggestion to everyone is that laser welding is also necessary to protect the gas, less than a last resort, please do not consider abandoning the protective gas. If you really do not want to use gas, but also according to the actual situation to analyze, carefully listen to the recommendations of the manufacturer. Here's why it's not recommended to give up the protective gas:

     Two: The protective gas is very effective in dispersing the plasma shielding generated by high-power laser welding

     Three: The protective gas can prevent the workpiece from oxidation during the welding process

     And we all know that inert gases can protect the weld pool, if some materials can be welded without oxidation, then we can not do protection. But for most manufacturers, helium, argon and nitrogen are better protective gases.

     Nitrogen has a remarkable protective effect on the welding seam of laser welding machine, and is a common protective gas for welding stainless steel and titanium alloy. But helium is more expensive, which increases production costs. The protection effect of nitrogen is also better, its disadvantage is easy to cause weld brittleness, it is often used in the welding of general structural parts, such as welding the shell of household electrical equipment. Argon has good oxidation resistance, but its ionization energy is lower than helium and nitrogen, and it can form plasma under the action of high energy density laser.
